Ekta Nagar Gets 2.62 km Eco-Trail Showcasing Unity in Diversity

Ekta Nagar is set to receive a major new visitor attraction as a 2.62-kilometre forest eco-trail opens to the public on October 31. The trail will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on National Unity Day.

The trail, known as 'Trail of United India', reflects the country's cultural diversity, wildlife, heritage and spiritual traditions. It has been constructed at Limdi village by the Statue of Unity Area Development and Tourism Governance Authority.

The initiative seeks to link nature-based tourism with exhibits that celebrate 'Unity in Diversity'. With visitor numbers climbing, the authority is also building additional facilities across the Ekta Nagar area.

The trail is divided into five thematic zones focused on wildlife, nature, youth, women's empowerment, heritage and spirituality. Exhibits and artistic sculptures along the route highlight India's natural wealth, social progress, cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.

Set in a green forest, the trail allows visitors to learn about different cultural and social traditions across India while experiencing the natural environment. Facilities along the route include a multi-purpose gazebo, bio-toilets, drinking water points, a bamboo watch tower, directional and informational signboards, stone seating and a trail map to help visitors navigate.

By adding a fresh attraction to the existing sites near the Statue of Unity and the Sardar Sarovar area, the project aims to motivate visitors to spend more time in Ekta Nagar. The trail brings together forest experiences, India's heritage and the idea of national unity.

The inauguration will take place on National Unity Day, celebrated on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
