Eight ZMMM Members Named in Complaint After Threats and Physical Abuse

A student in Ranchi has filed a detailed FIR against eight members of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, alleging they assaulted her during a protest on August 21. The protest, organized by the JPSC‑JSA Reforms platform, involved burning a chief minister’s effigy. According to the complaint, the accused entered the crowd, used abusive language, attempted to snatch the effigy, and physically assaulted the student, including pulling her dupatta. After the incident she received a death threat. She has asked that the case be registered under the SC/ST Act.
