Eight‑Man Teams to Target Drug Trafficking Across Gujarat

Each anti‑narcotics wing will consist of a compact eight‑member team, enabling quick deployment to identified drug hotspots. The composition includes a police inspector, a sub‑inspector, two assistant sub‑inspectors or head constables, and four constables, all supported by a dedicated police vehicle. These teams will monitor suspected traffickers flagged by the state anti‑narcotics task force, submit prevention proposals to the CID Crime branch under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and coordinate closely with local police stations while retaining authority to take disciplinary action against any local officer found negligent.
