Eight Crore Tiranga Selfies Mark 150 Years of Vande Mataram, Modi Notes

During the 137th "Man Ki Baat" broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted a digital milestone: over eighty million Tiranga selfies have been shared online, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the patriotic anthem "Vande Mataram".

He linked this surge to the nationwide enthusiasm sparked by events such as National Handloom Day, the Quit India movement anniversary, Partition Remembrance Day, Independence Day and National Space Day. The "Har Ghar Tiranga" drive, he added, has turned every household into a canvas of national colours.

Modi praised the citizens who contributed to the selfie count, noting that the collective visual display strengthens India’s unity and showcases the flag’s resonance across generations.
