Eight Crore Assets Locked Up as Part of J&K Anti‑Narcotics Drive

In a continuation of the "Nasha Mukti Jammu‑Kashmir" initiative, Srinagar law‑enforcement agencies seized ten real‑estate assets on Monday, amounting to an estimated value of eight crore rupees. The raid, carried out under the NDPS Act in the Noohatta locality, targeted prominent figures in the regional drug network.

The list of confiscated properties comprises a two‑storied house of Haval’s son Ahmed Sheikh (Rs 85 lakh), a two‑storied residence of Hazra Begum (Rs 55 lakh), a four‑storied building owned by Jahur Ahmed Sheikh, also known as Gullu (Rs 75 lakh), a one‑storied house of Fahmida alias Fumba (Rs 55 lakh), a two‑storied dwelling of Abdul Ahad Sheikh (Rs 75 lakh) and a three‑storied house of Gulam Nabi Sheikh (Rs 90 lakh).

Further assets seized included the Rs 90 lakh house of Altaf Ahmed Sheikh, a two‑storied home of Haider Ali Wani (Rs 85 lakh), a three‑storied property of Shakeel Ahmed Sheikh (Rs 95 lakh) and a two‑storied residence of Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh (Rs 95 lakh).

Authorities stated that the proceeds of illegal narcotics funded these properties, and the confiscation is designed to disrupt the financial infrastructure of the drug trade. The police appealed to the community for tips on drug‑related offences, promising full confidentiality for anyone who comes forward.
