ED Raids in Kozhikode Prompt Riyas to Vow Legal Fight

Tiruvananthapuram, August 19 – The Enforcement Directorate’s recent searches in Kozhikode, aimed at individuals linked to former minister P. A. Mohammed Riyas and his wife Vina T., have triggered a strong response from the politician.

Riyas labelled the operations as a diversionary tactic, alleging that the ED is attempting to distract from the financial transaction scrutiny surrounding the CMRL‑Exalogic case. He pointed out that documents and digital evidence seized during the raids are being examined for alleged links to an advertising firm associated with CPI(M) district secretary P. Nikhil.

The former minister announced that he will no longer answer media queries on the matter, opting instead to let the investigation proceed while he prepares a robust legal defence. He also reaffirmed his commitment to continue his political activities, stating that he opposes the ruling party’s use of investigative agencies as a tool of oppression.
