Economic Offences Wing Seizes 338 Shales Worth Rs 68 Lakh in Kashmir Scam

In a crackdown on a multi‑crore fraud, the Economic Offences Wing of Jammu & Kashmir confiscated 338 shales whose market value is estimated at around Rs 68 lakh. The seizure follows allegations that the accused group, led by Arshid Ahmed Shora alias Bilal, lured a complainant into a shady deal for shales priced over Rs 2.5 crore and then defaulted. After recovering the shales, the EOW complied with a court directive to hand them back to the aggrieved party. The four individuals—Shora, Firdaus Ahmed Mir, Firdaus Ahmed Bhat and Aftab Ahmed Shah—have now been formally charged.
