Comprehensive Lab and Field Trials Validate E20 Petrol Compatibility

A cross‑ministerial committee set up in December 2020 reviewed the suitability of E20 petrol for Indian vehicles. The panel examined mileage, fuel efficiency and overall compatibility. Research from Indian Oil Corporation, the Automotive Research Association of India and the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers fully supported the conclusions. Throughout the testing phase, car manufacturers, component makers, testing agencies and oil marketers participated actively. The systematic verification confirmed that engine robustness, vehicle operation, component compatibility and emission performance are all satisfactory with E20.
