E‑Scooter Distribution Boosts Mobility for Merit Scholars Under MP Government Scheme

In a ceremony at Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School, Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav handed electric scooters to over 7,400 outstanding students from government senior secondary institutions on September 19. The distribution formed part of the state’s "Chief Minister Scooter Scheme", aimed at encouraging academic brilliance.

The CM personally gave scooter keys to eleven deserving scholars and ensured that the monetary component of the benefit was transferred directly to each student’s bank account.

When spoken to, Khushi Rai, pursuing a B.Com degree and Chartered Accountancy preparation, highlighted how the scooter would simplify her daily travel. Akash Sahu, hailing from an agrarian family, shared plans to start a venture in the agricultural sector.

Ravi Kevat and Maryam Khan voiced their goal to become chartered accountants. Mini Jain, who qualified in the NEET exam, wants to specialise as a neurosurgeon. Additional students disclosed ambitions to become a lawyer, an MBBS doctor, and a software engineer, hoping to play a role in a "Developed India".

The initiative’s primary objective is to reward top performers in government schools and to ease their transportation challenges in higher education. Official figures state that more than 23,000 students have already benefited. Eligibility now requires a minimum of 70 % in class 12 and a first‑position rank within the school.
