Durga Puja and Dandiya Programs Launched in Ajmer’s Azad Park for Navratri
Azad Park in Ajmer became the focal point of Navratri celebrations as a Durga statue was ceremonially installed on October 11. The event was presided over by Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Mayor Anamika Sharma, Deputy Mayor Hemant Sankhla and other civic leaders.
The idol was set up following statutory guidelines, after which priests performed a Vedic chant‑filled puja. Worshippers placed their foreheads on the goddess’s feet, seeking her blessings for a prosperous year.
The inauguration also announced a schedule of dandiya dances, folk music and a nightly Ram‑leela, all to be held over the nine‑day period. Organisers highlighted that the blend of devotional rites and cultural showcases aims to attract participants of all ages.
Citizens have been invited to attend the events, with the municipal authority promising well‑maintained facilities and security throughout the festival.
