Dubey Defends Sanatan Dharma, Criticises Comparisons with Historical Conquerors

New Delhi – Anand Dubey, senior spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), defended Sanatan Dharma in a press briefing, countering Karnataka minister Basavaraj Rayareddy’s recent praise of Islam as the "best" faith. Dubey argued that the ancient Hindu tradition inherently champions unity, peace and the concept of the world as one family.

He cited the lives of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Gautama Buddha as embodiments of moral excellence that transcend religious boundaries. According to Dubey, these figures illustrate why Sanatan Dharma remains a guiding philosophy for billions across the globe.

When asked about Babur, Dubey labeled the 16th‑century ruler as an "aggressor" whose actions should not be romanticised in current diplomatic narratives. He stressed that modern leaders, whether from the Nehru‑Gandhi lineage or the present administration, carry the nation's dignity whenever they meet foreign dignitaries.

Dubey also addressed the Supreme Court’s remarks on student protests, reaffirming that questioning authority is a constitutional right. He referenced the recent NEET‑UG paper disruption in Rajasthan caused by a power outage as evidence of systemic inadequacies that demand urgent reform. The spokesperson concluded that the government’s duty is to listen to youthful voices and rectify institutional shortcomings.
