Dual Corruption Raids: J&K Agriculture Dept and Gujarat Police Under Probe

Law‑enforcement agencies in two different Indian states have intensified anti‑corruption efforts this week. In Jammu and Kashmir, the CBI detained a Sub‑Divisional Agricultural Officer (SDAO), an Agricultural Extension Assistant (AEA) and a private individual after a sting operation revealed a demand for ₹35,000 in bribes tied to the Hadp subsidy scheme.

The CBI’s operation captured the AEA and the private party accepting ₹15,000 from the complainant, eventually leading to the arrest of another Sub‑Divisional Agricultural Officer from his home. The case, recorded on September 19, 2026, remains under active investigation.

Simultaneously, the Gujarat Anti‑Corruption Bureau targeted a police officer and a GRD staff member at the Aji Dam police station in Rajkot. The duo allegedly demanded ₹10,000 to influence bail procedures. Both were apprehended after a citizen reported the demand via the ACB’s dedicated helpline.
