Investigation Reveals Drugged Guard Plot in Bhiwadi Copper Heist
Bhiwadi police uncovered a sophisticated scheme in which a security guard drugged fellow staff members to facilitate a massive copper coil theft. The plot involved tampering with a cold drink, causing the gunman and a warehouse worker to collapse, after which the thieves broke the surveillance system and absconded with the metal.
Station House Officer Sachin Sharma reported that the crime was flagged after warehouse manager Mahesh Chandra Sharma filed a complaint. The stolen copper, estimated at 1.5 crore rupees, was later traced to a scrap dealer in Noida, where the accused sold the material.
The investigation leveraged CCTV footage, informant statements, and cyber forensic tools to identify Saahid (son of Salim) and Salman (son of Ishyak) as the key culprits. Both men are habitual offenders who often lure intoxicated guards and workers to commit thefts for financial gain.
Legal proceedings are in motion, with asset seizure and continued interrogation of the arrested individuals to uncover any wider network involved in similar crimes.
