Driver Loses Control, Collides with Electricity Mast Near Perbag

In the early hours of Thursday, a driver navigating the outskirts of Srinagar lost control of his vehicle, causing it to crash into an electricity mast in the Perbag area. The impact left eight laborers wounded, three of whom are in a critical state. Emergency responders conveyed the injured to Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital. The driver, a 27‑year‑old resident of Jahur Kupwara, has not been released for questioning, and police have yet to publish a full investigation report. Such accidents are common in the region, often stemming from risky behaviours like mobile phone usage while driving, over‑speeding, and intoxication.
