DRDO Hyderabad Names Dr. P. Shrihari as New Director of RCI

The Defence Research and Development Organisation’s Hyderabad unit has installed Dr. P. Shrihari as the director of the Research Centre Building (RCI) as of 15 September 2026.

Dr. Shrihari holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University (1990), a master's degree from PSG College of Technology, and a Ph.D. from Osmania University.

After joining DRDO through the Mechanical Engineering Fellowship Course, he served as Scientist ‘B’ at LRDE, focusing on multi‑mode radar and the creation of multilayer slot‑array antennas, technologies later employed in the ALH and BFSR programmes.

His later tenure included work on long‑range tracking radars, liquid propulsion for interceptor missiles, and leadership of the MR‑SAM (IAF) project, which saw the first firing unit integrated with the Indian Air Force in October 2021.
