Diwali festivities highlight Telangana's Indiramma scheme, says CM

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy used the Diwali holiday on November 8 to showcase the state’s Indiramma housing scheme, meeting a beneficiary family in Paraspur, Kodangal, Vikarabad district. The CM, flanked by ministers and legislators, unveiled the fresh home of Gorpalli Sumitra and Srinivas, gifting the household new clothing and a celebratory meal that featured premium rice.

Key dignitaries such as Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Minister Siethaka, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and senior party members joined the family for a communal lunch. The event concluded with local children lighting crackers and receiving pens from the Chief Minister.

The occasion launched the “Maa Indiramma Intlo Deepavali” initiative, urging officials to celebrate Diwali with families allotted homes under the scheme in their own regions. The Chief Minister’s itinerary also included the inauguration of a new Sir C.V. Raman Science Museum building in Narayanpet and the opening of a newly built police station at Dudyal, underscoring the state’s broader development agenda.
