Dilip Jaiswal Hits Out at Cockroach Janata Party Online Campaign

Bihar’s Revenue Minister Dilip Jaiswal has stirred a political storm by strongly condemning the viral online campaign known as Cockroach Janata Party. Addressing reporters during a programme in Katihar, he dismissed the trend as the work of unemployed youngsters trying to mislead the country. Jaiswal emphasised that India’s democratic system is far too strong to be undermined by such fleeting online movements. Using strong language, the minister likened the campaigners to cockroaches and rats, insisting they cannot damage the nation’s democratic institutions. The remarks have sparked intense discussion on social media and within political circles. The trend originated after Justice Suryakant’s comments during a Supreme Court hearing, which drew criticism and prompted a later clarification. Following the judge’s remarks, social media user Abhijeet Dipke created a registration form for the so-called Cockroach Janata Party, transforming the comment into a symbol of protest against unemployment and systemic failures. In the same interaction, Jaiswal also called for a complete prohibition on cow slaughter in West Bengal during Eid-ul-Adha, highlighting the religious significance of cows in Sanatan Dharma. The minister’s statements have reignited debates on both political and cultural fronts.
