Dilip Ghosh Slams Kunal Ghosh, Rahul Gandhi and CJP

Newtown, October 24: West Bengal minister Dilip Ghosh launched a sharp attack on several political figures and groups on Friday. He targeted Trinamool MLA Kunal Ghosh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the CJP, while also commenting on the Aam Aadmi Party’s record on drugs in Punjab.

Begin with the upcoming local body polls. Ghosh said the BJP has been preparing for months. “Our organisation works throughout the year and begins readying for elections long before the dates are announced. Decisions are now being made and candidates are being finalised. Meetings are taking place regularly, involving national leaders, state leaders, our district in-charges and Kolkata leaders. The candidate list is being prepared together, and the names will be announced once the election schedule is out.”

On Kunal Ghosh, the minister questioned the basis of his statements. “On what grounds is he making these claims? Whom is he representing? Is he the chief spokesperson of a party? He says whatever he wants, and his remarks lack any substance or logic.”

Ghosh’s criticism of Rahul Gandhi centred on his absence from political debate. “Whenever Rahul Gandhi’s name comes up, the focus is on why he went abroad, when he went, where he went and when he will come back. Why is there no discussion of his role in politics, his contribution, or his party’s poll performance?”

On the CJP, Ghosh said, “Some people think that carrying the CJP banner gives them the freedom to do whatever they like. No one has that freedom. India has a legal system and is a democracy. Everyone can protest for their rights and demands, but this must remain within the system. The police and government will cooperate. Protesting anywhere you like is not right.”

He also addressed the CJP’s planned rally in Kolkata, saying that it would not be limited to the city and would be held in every state. Ghosh claimed that opposition groups in Kolkata are divided, and that whatever they attempt will not succeed. He added that people in the region do not support such anarchic forces.

Finally, on Punjab, Ghosh said, “Nobody expected the Aam Aadmi Party to end drug abuse. People may have voted for them out of frustration with the Congress and other parties. However, those who are addicted to drugs themselves cannot create a drug-free society.”
