Dileep Ghosh Says Police Probe Will Expose More TMC ‘Cut Money’ Networks

Speaking to the media on July 30, West Bengal’s Minister of State Dileep Ghosh warned that the ongoing police inquiry into the Tulloo Mandal cash and gold recovery will uncover a broader web of “cut‑money” collaborators from the previous TMC regime. He claimed that many high‑ranking party members, including Anubrata Mandal, cultivated a cadre of brokers who diverted state resources for personal enrichment.

Ghosh asserted that the former administration’s tolerance of such activities allowed vast sums—estimated in the tens of crores—to disappear from development budgets for districts such as Birbhum, Murshidabad, Purulia, and Bankura. He indicated that the current investigations will bring those hidden fortunes into the public eye, reinforcing the state’s revenue base and curbing the entrenched culture of forced extortion.
