One of the core objectives of the new B.Tech line at CSU is the digital safeguarding of India’s vast manuscript heritage. Prof. Varkhedi highlighted that around 95 % of the country’s ancient knowledge still exists only in fragile handwritten codices. By integrating AI modules with Sanskrit scholarship, the university aims to create searchable, annotated digital copies that can be accessed worldwide. The initiative aligns with national programmes such as Knowledge India, Digital India and the NRFC, which earmark funds for language‑centric digital content creation. The hope is that AI‑driven analysis will not only preserve texts but also generate fresh research insights.
