Digital beta portal for Section‑34 land transfers rolled out in four districts

Lucknow, Sept 3 — Uttar Pradesh’s Revenue Council Board launched a beta version of a specialised portal to handle land‑transfer cases under Section 34 of the revenue act. The new system will be operational in Shravasti, Banda, Balrampur and Hardoi, allowing applicants to submit name‑change requests online and monitor progress without repetitive trips to government offices.

Commissioner and Secretary Kanchan Verma explained that Section‑34 matters constitute the majority of the board’s docket, making a dedicated digital platform essential for meeting statutory timelines and ensuring officer accountability. The portal does not alter the underlying Section‑34 legislation; it merely digitises the procedural workflow.

By centralising records, the platform reduces paperwork, speeds up case registration, and offers real‑time status updates. It also integrates with the Online Transmission of Lower Court Record Portal, enabling swift electronic sharing of lower‑court documents, cutting down loss or delay of files.
