Digital Assessment System Launched at MIMS Under CSR Funding

Heavy Industry and Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy inaugurated a modern digital assessment system at Manda Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) on Saturday. The platform, designed to evaluate the rehabilitation needs of persons with disabilities, is financed through a one‑crore‑rupee corporate social responsibility contribution from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

Speaking at the launch, Kumaraswamy highlighted the importance of technology in delivering personalized care and monitoring progress for the disabled community. He stressed that such tools enable dignified living and empower beneficiaries to lead independent lives.

The event followed a larger CSR drive in which SAIL and ALIMCO provided assistive devices to 299 individuals. The minister reiterated his belief that the disabled deserve equality, self‑respect and opportunities rather than charity.

Kumaraswamy also visited Halali Government School to inaugurate two newly equipped classrooms built with a 32.5 lakh rupee grant from AM/NS India’s CSR program. He laid the foundation stone for two additional classrooms at the former Municipal College, bringing the total CSR investment in Mandya to 2.15 crore rupees.

Concluding his visits, the minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to elevating education standards and ensuring robust infrastructure across schools and colleges nationwide.
