Dhruv Rathi’s Participation in FIR‑Park SISR Demo Triggers Immigration Inquiry

A protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll was staged on 8 October at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park. Among the speakers was YouTuber Dhruv Rathi, who, according to retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao, joined the rally alongside actor‑activist Prakash Raj. The event, organized by the “Cockroach Janata Party” and other citizen groups, challenged the removal of names from voter lists. Rao’s correspondence to the Home Secretary requests an audit of Rathi’s citizenship status, passport details, visa type and compliance with Indian immigration law. The former commissioner also asks if Rathi holds an OCI card or any other legal status that would permit his involvement in a politically sensitive assembly.
