Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan spearheaded an AI roundtable at IIT Delhi, bringing together 10 innovative EdTech firms to explore AI’s role in enhancing India’s education landscape. This initiative directly supports the ambitions of NEP 2020, aiming for inclusive and tech-driven learning.
Accompanied by MoS Education Sukanta Majumdar and Jayant Chaudhary, Pradhan delved into AI applications from startups such as Arivihan, Fermi AI, Khare AI, Seekho, SpeakX, SuperKalam, Supernova, Vedantu, ConveGenius, and Vironan. These companies are pioneering tools for K-12 education, exam preparation, vocational skills, and multilingual proficiency, particularly benefiting underserved rural students.
The session precedes the much-anticipated India AI Impact Summit, signaling a new era for edtech collaboration.
On the same day, Pradhan inaugurated two ambitious IIT Delhi projects worth Rs 430 crore. The 10-storey Academic Block-103 (5 lakh sq ft) will house advanced facilities: 31 classrooms, 150 labs, 150 offices, conference spaces, eateries, and ATMs—the institute’s tallest academic structure yet.
Girls Hostel-50 (3.9 lakh sq ft) will provide comfortable living for 1,400 girls, complete with storage, desks, power outlets, and communal dining. Eco-friendly designs incorporate solar energy, water conservation, preserved greenery, and zero deforestation.
The ceremony drew IIT Director Prof. Rangan Banerjee, officials, educators, and students. This dual push on AI integration and infrastructure exemplifies the government’s commitment to a world-class, equitable education system.
