DGAFMS Vice Admiral Aarti Sarin Addresses AFMC Commissioning Ceremony
During the commissioning ceremony of AFMC’s 60th batch, Vice Admiral Surgeon Aarti Sarin, Director General of Defence Medical Services, delivered a keynote address that resonated with the assembled cadets and dignitaries. She emphasized that the parade’s precision was no accident but the product of relentless practice, teamwork, and unwavering discipline.
The Vice Admiral highlighted AFMC’s stature as a leading medical college in the country, noting its crucial contribution to the nation’s defence health infrastructure. She encouraged the new officers to uphold the highest standards of medical ethics and military conduct.
The speech was followed by remarks from Sub‑Lieutenant Reshma Goyal, who thanked the teaching staff for their dedication and affirmed the college’s role in promoting women’s participation in defence. Colonel Jagmohan Goyal, Reshma’s father, expressed his heartfelt pride, echoing the Prime Minister’s call for daughters to serve the nation.
Flying Officer Ananya Phadke concluded the ceremony by acknowledging the support she received from mentors and by advocating for greater female representation in the armed forces, which she believes will drive further progress.
