DG Highlights Importance of Curiosity and Service at Kirori Mal College Event

Lieutenant Governor T S Sandhu, addressing the Freshers Orientation Programme 2026, used the platform of Kirori Mal College to stress the significance of intellectual curiosity and community service. While cutting the ribbon on the college’s new incubation centre, he reminded students that a hunger for knowledge is the engine behind scientific and societal advancement.

He urged the audience to pursue independent analysis, to question assumptions, and to stay committed to lifelong learning. Sandhu also highlighted that values such as honesty, dedication to service, and striving for excellence are essential for both personal growth and national development.

Sharing his own academic trajectory, Sandhu noted that his degrees were earned solely within Delhi, never abroad, and that the environment at Delhi University laid the groundwork for his dedication to public service.

The Lieutenant Governor called upon the students to trust their capabilities, to have faith in Indian institutions, and to seize the opportunities presented by a rapidly evolving economy. “Every one of you holds the power to shape India’s future,” he asserted.

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement about university campuses becoming vibrant hubs of youth innovation, Sandhu concluded that as India moves toward a developed status by 2047, universities must keep championing research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
