DG CV Anand Appeals to Officers After String of Fatal Attempts

On September 10, coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day, Telangana Police Director General C.V. Anand addressed the entire cadre of roughly 93,000 officers. He urged personnel to seek help for financial or personal difficulties rather than resorting to self‑harm. The DG also warned against substance abuse, emphasizing the need to stay clear of alcohol, narcotics and cannabis, and to avoid other social vices that could exacerbate stress among the ranks.
