Devotees Witness Grand Royal Look of Baba Mahakal during Bhasma Aarti

Thousands of worshippers assembled at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on the auspicious Bhadrapada Thursday to observe Baba Mahakal’s Bhasma Aarti. The priest, after seeking Lord Veerabhadra’s permission, opened the sacred doors accompanied by the thunder of drums and nagada beats. The deity was gloriously decorated in a king‑like appearance, adorned with crowns, dry fruits and the symbolic trishul. The entire complex echoed with the slogan “Jai Shri Mahakal”, temple bells, and the resonating sound of conch shells. The ritual included a Panchamrit abhishek using dairy and honey, the first pulse of a bell followed by a Harivom water offering, and a fragrant incense ceremony before the main ash aarti. The event culminated with an energetic procession of drums, cymbals and conch calls, leaving the crowd exhilarated.
