Devotees Praise Army Support as Amarnath Convoys Depart from Pahalgam and Jammu
Pilgrims from both Pahalgam and Jammu have begun their journeys toward the sacred Amarnath shrine, underscoring the pivotal role played by the Indian Army in ensuring a secure passage.
From the Nunwan base camp, the fourth convoy left with a spirit of devotion and confidence in the army's logistical assistance. One participant, a repeat pilgrim, emphasized that the military’s involvement has removed most travel anxieties and called for full civilian cooperation with security forces.
In Jammu, the fifth convoy experienced swift registration processes and prompt issuance of RFID tags, thanks to streamlined coordination between local authorities and the armed forces. Travelers reported that the overall environment feels more peaceful and orderly since the constitutional changes that lifted special provisions in the region.
Both groups highlighted the blessings of the shrine’s Mahants and praised the administration for ensuring clean drinking water, nutritious meals, and safe accommodation at temporary camps.
The Divisional Commissioner in Samba visited the Chichi Mata Lodgement Centre, reinforcing directives to maintain high standards of hygiene and hospitality. The Deputy Commissioner also participated, ensuring that any gaps are addressed before the next set of pilgrims arrives.
