Devotees Gather for Nighttime Krishna Kirtan and Dahi Handi in Shirdi

On the night of September 5, Shirdi’s Sai Baba Institute of Vishwastavyavastha organized a devotional gathering that centered on a Krishna Kirtan and a Dahi Handi ceremony. H.B.P. Shri Rajendra Pandurang Mandeval, traveling from Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, placed a Krishna statue before the Samadhi and led a soulful Kirtan that described the divine child’s birth, his early leelas and the role of devotion in Krishna’s worship.

The temple’s leadership—CEO Goraksh Gadilkhar, Deputy CIO Bheemraj Darade, and head priest Vishnu Thorat—joined priests, staff and a throng of devotees in the celebration. The Kirtan’s climax was marked by the resonant chants of “Jai Shri Krishna” and “Govinda Govala,” echoing through the temple complex.

The Dahi Handi was then broken in a traditional fashion by Ajit Prakash Kote, a descendant of the Tatyas Patil family, eliciting enthusiastic cheers. The night concluded with the temple’s Shree Aarti, sealing the spiritual atmosphere of the Nandotsav festivities.
