Details emerge on gun attack that killed a Sanganeer open jail inmate

Police reports indicate that the victim, Ganga Sahai Kumawat, was serving a sentence for a 2018 murder case linked to the killing of Mahendra Gurjar, a local history‑seller from Motidongri. After being granted temporary leave to visit his home in Dhabas, Kumawat was intercepted near Janaki Vihar. Witnesses said two assailants on a motorcycle fired three shots before fleeing. The incident prompted a swift response from police units of Karniji Vihar, Bhankrota and Chitrakoot, who secured the scene, collected evidence and launched a murder investigation.
