Despite Bail Order, Nida Khan Remains in Custody over Alleged Harassment and Conversion
Even after the Nasik court approved her bail on July 6, Nida Khan has not been released from jail. Her attorneys, Baba Sayyad and Rahul Kasliwal, told the media that the decision is awaiting completion of standard release formalities, which could take another one or two days.
The bail was granted in connection with a high‑profile case involving the TCS company, where Khan is the prime accused of sexual harassment and attempts at religious conversion. Co‑accused Taufeeq also obtained bail, while the bail request of Danish Sheik was denied by the bench.
Khan’s legal team argued for her release on humanitarian grounds, citing her pregnancy and the fact that the investigative agency has already submitted its charge‑sheet. They also stressed her clean record, indicating she is not a repeat offender. The court concurred and ordered bail, subject to the procedural clearance required for her physical discharge from custody.
The allegations first surfaced when a female employee of the Nasik TCS office lodged a complaint against a colleague, Danish Sheik, accusing him of deceitfully presenting himself as unmarried and then engaging in physical intimacy. Subsequent inquiries revealed multiple women coming forward with similar claims of mental and sexual harassment spanning from February 2022 to March 2026, complaints that were allegedly dismissed by the firm’s HR division.
Khan was apprehended on May 7 from a residential flat in Caser Colony, Naregaon, after the police linked her to the alleged misconduct. The court’s current stance is to maintain her detention until the administrative steps accompanying the bail order are fully processed.
