Madhya Pradesh’s industrial ambitions received a strong impetus as Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla ordered immediate action to expedite industrial park projects in Rewa and Maihar. During an intensive review session, Shukla lambasted bureaucratic delays and mandated a 90-day timeline for key milestones including site preparation and utility linkages.
Rewa district, with its vast limestone reserves and strategic location, is set to host a mega industrial park focusing on heavy industries and logistics. Meanwhile, Maihar’s park will prioritize SMEs in food processing and engineering goods. State officials disclosed that Rs 500 crore has been allocated in the current budget, with additional funding from central schemes expected soon.
‘Industrialization is the backbone of employment generation. Rewa and Maihar have immense potential, but we need execution, not excuses,’ Shukla remarked. His directives include appointing nodal officers for each park, conducting investor summits, and ensuring single-window clearances. Environmental norms will be strictly followed to avoid future hurdles.
The projects are expected to create over 20,000 direct jobs within three years, significantly impacting the local economy. Industry bodies have pledged support, highlighting the parks’ proximity to major highways and railways. This development aligns with PM Modi’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, positioning MP as an investment magnet.
With clear leadership from the top, Rewa and Maihar are poised to script a new chapter in Madhya Pradesh’s growth story, blending natural resources with modern infrastructure for lasting prosperity.
