Deputy Chief Minister Warns Against Politicising Ram Temple Scandal
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Tuesday warned that the Ram Temple controversy should not become a tool for political point-scoring.
According to Maurya, investigations by the government and the temple trust are proceeding in parallel and are transparent. He criticized Akhilesh Yadav for repeatedly issuing “misleading and fabricated” statements that distract from the real issue of accountability.
The deputy minister also invoked memories of the Samajwadi Party’s rule, during which devotees were shot at, insisting that such episodes must not be forgotten when debating sensitive religious matters.
Maurya concluded by urging all political actors to prioritize honesty, responsibility, and the sanctity of the holy site over short‑term electoral gains.
