Delhi's traffic police boost motorcycle surveillance to curb holiday congestion
As Delhi prepares for a surge in vehicle movement during the holiday period, the Traffic Police has heightened its two‑wheel surveillance across the city. The Motorcycle Unit (MTU) now operates at an accelerated pace during both morning and evening rush hours, targeting routes that historically experience heavy load.
The intensified patrols cover critical stretches such as Lala Jagat Narayan Marg, Bhagwan Mahavir Marg, GT Karnal Road, and the busy Mall Road area. Officers are equipped with communication devices that allow instant reporting of jam conditions, enabling rapid deployment of additional resources to clear blockages.
Efforts are concentrated on sensitive intersections like Khajuri Chowk, Gokulpuri Flyover, and the corridor between Subhash Park and T‑Point Chhatta Rail Road. By keeping a tight watch on traffic patterns, the MTU can act pre‑emptively, redirecting vehicles and easing pressure on congested zones.
The police appeal to commuters to respect traffic rules, avoid unnecessary lane changes, and follow the directions issued by patrol officers. Collective adherence will help keep the city's roads safe, reduce travel delays, and ensure a smoother festive season for everyone.
