State Orders Closure of Outlets Selling Substandard Desi Ghee

Following the laboratory analysis that flagged more than forty‑two percent of the tested ghee samples as below standard, Delhi’s Food Safety Department ordered the shutdown of outlets distributing the unsafe products. Brands such as Haryana Light, Haryana Supreme, Haryana Dairy, Haryana Pure, Shri Haryana King, and several others were listed among those whose ghee was deemed hazardous for consumption.

Samples labeled Nova, Govardhan Pure Cow Ghee and Pratap Desi Ghee were placed in the sub‑standard category. Licences of the offending retailers have been suspended, and the establishments are barred from selling any food items until they can demonstrate compliance with the safety norms.

The department will continue random sampling across markets, storage facilities and online platforms to ensure that only quality food reaches consumers.
