Delhi Police Under Fire as AAP Claims Cover-Up in Pandav Murder Case

What began as a tragic shooting incident in Uttam Nagar has now turned into a heated political battle between the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Police. AAP leaders have leveled serious allegations that the police are actively trying to shield the accused officer from accountability. Saurabh Bhardwaj highlighted what he described as a deliberately flawed identification process. During the Test Identification Parade, the accused was made to blend in with nine other men wearing identical clothes, caps, and facial tape. This arrangement, Bhardwaj argued, was designed to prevent witnesses from making a positive identification. He pointed out that CCTV footage from the night clearly showed the officer without any such covering. The victim, Pandav Kumar, was reportedly singled out because he belonged to Bihar. The accused officer, attached to the Special Cell, allegedly used caste-based slurs before opening fire with his official revolver. Pandav was killed instantly, and his friend was wounded in the attack. Party leaders further claimed that police have been obstructing their efforts to support the grieving family. When AAP workers attempted to visit the household, officials reportedly called family members to the police station and detained them for several hours. The family is seeking substantial compensation, employment for one member, and fast-track justice. Sanjeev Jha, who has been fasting since Friday, described the death as a sacrifice and warned that the protest would continue until justice is delivered. He accused both the BJP government and Delhi Police of discriminating against poor and migrant families from Bihar.
