Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory for September 2 Motorcade Drill

Delhi Police released a traffic advisory for September 2 to facilitate a motorcade rehearsal ahead of the BRICS Summit 2026. The drill will run between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., during which traffic on several principal corridors will be regulated and diversion routes activated.

Authorities recommend that commuters schedule their trips early, allocate additional time, and opt for mass transit, especially the metro, to avoid bottlenecks. Drivers must adhere to the directions of traffic constables and follow the prescribed detour routes.

Priority will be given to emergency responders and vehicles providing essential services, allowing them passage as needed. The exercise involves setting up 22 diversion points and controlling traffic on over 35 streets.

Streets affected include Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Three Statue Road, Akbar Road, Tej Janwari Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Subramaniam Bharati Marg, Mathura Road, Motilal Nehru Marg, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Marg, Africa Avenue, Satya Marg, Shanti Path, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Barakhamba Road, Tolstoy Marg, Ranjit Singh Flyover, Niti Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Kamal Ataturk Marg, APJ Abdul Kalam Road, Press Enclave Road, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, Joseph Broz Tito Marg, and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg.
