Delhi Police Raid Nets Nine for Betting and Illegal Alcohol

A series of police actions in Delhi resulted in the arrest of nine people linked to gambling, illegal liquor distribution, and shoplifting. In Khajuri Khas, a tip about a gambling gathering prompted constables to storm the venue around 8 p.m. Six men were arrested, and police seized playing cards, ₹10,440 in cash and several bottles of unlicensed spirit.

In Sonia Vihar, a routine patrol identified a woman lingering near an empty plot beside Bedi Gas Agency. A search revealed a substantial haul of unauthorised alcoholic beverages – 30 beers, 30 half‑litre drinks and 49 quarter‑litre bottles. The 52‑year‑old was taken into custody; officials said she had a prior record for a similar offence.

The third case stemmed from a complaint by retailer Tashan Jain, who reported a robbery of roughly ₹35,000 from his shop on Main 20 Foot Road, Harsh Vihar, on August 3. An investigative team led by SHO Inspector Tej Datt Gaur gathered evidence, apprehended two 18‑year‑old suspects, Aryan and Sunny, and recovered ₹10,000 from them. Further inquiries are ongoing for all incidents.
