Delhi Police Questioned Over Unexplained Stone Truck Near Protest Sites
The Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu accused the Delhi administration of negligence after a truck loaded with stones appeared at two strategic points on the day of the Parliament march. First stationed at Jantar Mantar and later moved to the vicinity of Youth Congress and NSUI offices, the truck raised serious questions about police preparedness.
Bhanu argued that placing such a vehicle without prior notice or permission in a high‑security zone is implausible unless there is collusion. He demanded a thorough, unbiased inquiry to establish who authorized the truck’s placement and whether it was meant to incite violence.
He also challenged the official narrative that police officers were injured by protestors, insisting that any injuries must be examined to determine whether they were caused by demonstrators or by individuals deployed for other motives. Bhanu concluded that the government is attempting to link peaceful dissent with aggression, a move he calls antithetical to democratic values.
