Delhi Police Files FIR Against Congress MPs for Unauthorised Building Access
Following a complaint received from the administration of the Akashvani Bhawan, Delhi police registered an FIR against several Congress parliamentarians on October 7. The filing cites illegal entry and trespass after the lawmakers, accompanied by supporters, attempted to reach the Election Commission’s office inside the building. Despite repeated instructions from police to halt their advance, the leaders proceeded toward the main gate, resulting in a standoff on Parliament Street. The police had earlier warned that the demonstration would not be allowed to continue after sunset, and that non‑compliance would lead to detention. The FIR notes that the detained officials were released after a few hours of questioning.
