The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe weather advisory for the Delhi-NCR region, encompassing Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, due to persistent monsoon rainfall across North India. The weather forecast for Delhi anticipates heavy downpours. The beginning of September brought an unexpected disruption for students in several states. Significant monsoon rains necessitated the closure of schools, providing students with an extended break from their usual academic schedules. Continuous rainfall has been affecting Delhi since Monday morning. By midday, the water level of the Yamuna River at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) had reached 204.87 meters, nearing the danger mark of 205.33 meters. Authorities have cautioned that the river level could surpass 206 meters by Tuesday evening, a critical threshold necessitating precautionary measures in low-lying areas.
