Delhi-NCR Narcotics Sweep Nets Over One Crore Worth of Weed
The Greater Noida police, in partnership with an anti‑narcotics task force, dismantled an interstate marijuana trafficking operation on October 14. The raid uncovered 165.7 kg of cannabis, an amount valued at roughly one crore rupees, and led to the detention of three alleged smugglers: Dinesh Pal, Sameer Kumar and Ravi Kumar Sahni.
In addition to the drug, officials seized a truck and a car used for transportation, four mobile devices, cash totalling Rs 1,980 and a bank card. The suspects were apprehended near the Kudi Kheda bend on the Dadi‑to‑Lalkuan highway.
Investigators revealed that the gang had installed a secret cavity inside the truck to conceal the marijuana and avoid detection during police checks. Ravi Kumar Sahni supposedly sourced the product from Bhubaneswar and handed it over to his partners in Delhi for wholesale and street‑level sales.
The police are now focusing on uncovering the wider network, locating other suppliers, and tracing the financial proceeds of the operation. The successful bust underscores the continued emphasis on curbing drug trafficking in the Delhi‑NCR region.
