A grim discovery in New Rajendra Nagar has left the neighbourhood stunned. Two women in their eighties were found lifeless inside a locked residence on Thursday morning, triggering an immediate police investigation. The alarm was raised by a domestic worker who noticed an unusual odour while cleaning the verandah. After repeated knocks went unanswered and the stench grew stronger, she informed nearby residents. Police arrived shortly and forced open the doors to find Chandrakanta and Saroj Bala lying motionless—one on a bed, the other on the floor. The house, which has four entry points, showed no evidence of break-in or violence. Locals told investigators that the two women had shared the home for a long time and kept mostly to themselves. A forensic team collected samples, and an ambulance crew declared both deceased at the scene. Bodies have been sent for autopsy at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Police continue to probe every possibility, although initial findings do not point to criminal involvement. Further updates are awaited as the inquiry progresses.
