Delhi Government Targets 2,500 Units of Blood in Tribute to Modi’s Service Vision

In a coordinated effort to honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Delhi’s administration organized a mega blood donation campaign on September 17. The campaign aimed to gather 2,500 units of blood, a target set to underline the city’s dedication to the Prime Minister’s message of public service.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and senior BJP minister Harsh Malhotra were among the first to donate, signaling leadership’s active participation. The event drew thousands of participants, reaffirming citizen confidence in government‑led health initiatives.

Alongside the blood drive, officials announced the roll‑out of a new state‑run organ‑donation portal. Gupta pledged to become the platform’s first registered donor, encouraging the public to follow suit and expand the pool of lifesaving donors.

A cultural complement to the health drive was a 108‑kunda havan performed at the Baba Shyam Khatu Temple. The ritual invoked blessings for Prime Minister Modi’s continued health and vigor. More than 17,000 trustees attended, while specially‑abled children recited passages from the Sundarakand to convey their well‑wishes.
