Delhi Foreigners Cell Seizes Two Overstay Cases Under Double‑Entry Visa

In a concerted effort to enforce visa regulations, Delhi’s Special Staff Foreigners Cell conducted a drive called Operation Vista 1.0. The operation focused on travelers who might be extending their stay beyond the limits of their visas.

The verification team visited multiple accommodations in the Central District. At a hotel on Reservation Road in the Nizamuddin locality, they found 25‑year‑old Jamir Hussain, who had arrived on 9 August with a double‑entry visa that caps each visit at 15 days.

Further checks led them to a lodging facility in the Charri Valley Main Market of Paharganj, where 39‑year‑old Moksuda Akhtar was residing. Akhtar’s entry date was 27 August, also on a double‑entry visa with the same 15‑day restriction.

Authentication of travel documents showed that both had overstayed the permitted period, violating visa conditions. The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) processed the breach, and the two were taken into custody.

Both detainees were transferred to the Shahjahan‑Bag Service Dharm Detention Centre in the Sarai Rohilla area, where they will stay until a final decision on deportation is made.
