Delhi’s Education Drive Gains Momentum as Chief Minister Pledges New Language Labs

NEW DELHI, September 5 – Chief Minister Rekha Gupta used the Teacher Mahakumbh platform to announce the establishment of 170 modern language laboratories across Delhi’s schools. The labs, split between 70 CBSE‑affiliated institutions and 100 other government schools, aim to enhance students’ communication and linguistic abilities.

Gupta emphasized that, in addition to core academics, schools must cultivate entrepreneurship, innovation, problem‑solving, democratic values, and fundamental numeracy and literacy. Initiatives such as Niv, Rashtriyata, and Nipun Sankalp will be integrated to support these objectives.

The education budget for 2026‑27, amounting to INR 19,148 crore, will fund these language labs along with smart classrooms and other technology‑driven resources. The goal is to ensure each child in Delhi receives a holistic education that prepares them for a rapidly evolving world.

The ceremony featured an honor guard by NCC cadets, a welcome song by music teachers, and a colorful reception by children in traditional attire. Numerous dignitaries, including the Education Minister and senior bureaucrats, were present to witness the pledge.
