Delhi CM, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar Leaders Remember Rani Padmini’s Sacrifice

New Delhi – The 26th of August observed Jaohar Day with a series of statements from senior politicians honoring the historic martyrdom of Rani Padmini and her companion Veeranganas. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta posted on a social networking site, calling Padmini’s steadfast courage a perpetual illustration of women’s empowerment in the Indian psyche. Mohan Yadav, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, described Padmini as the living symbol of bravery, sacrifice and indomitable spirit, sending countless respects to every woman who defended dignity and self‑respect. Bihar’s cabinet minister Vijay Sinha highlighted Padmini’s embodiment of character, sacrifice, and unparalleled heroism, offering his sincere greetings to the entire sisterhood on Jaohar Day. Likewise, Madhya Pradesh minister Rakesh Singh praised the queen’s and Chittorgarh’s Veeranganas’ fearless resolve, proclaiming their heroic narrative an eternal part of regional heritage. Across the political spectrum, leaders reiterated that the self‑immolation led by Padmini with 16,000 women in 1303 continues to inspire and instruct future generations on the value of honour and women’s agency.
