Delhi CBI Operation Nabs Ministry Official for 10 Lakh Bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation in Delhi has arrested an accountant sub‑controller from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on charges of accepting a bribe. According to the investigation, the officer, acting as an independent financial advisor, demanded INR 15 lakh from a petitioner to expedite a contract renewal. After the petitioner lodged a formal complaint, the CBI registered the case and orchestrated a sting operation. The officer was caught receiving INR 10 lakh via his spouse.

The agency reiterated its resolve to eradicate corruption in public offices and called on the public to report any solicitations of illicit money by officials. Complaints can be filed at any CBI office or through its mobile helpline numbers.
