Delhi’s 7 Million Tree Goal Accelerates as Leaders Plant Saplings

The recent tree‑planting event at the PBG ground signaled a rapid push toward Delhi’s ambitious target of planting seven million trees. Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa explained that the “One Tree for Mother 2.0” initiative, now overseen by Chief Minister Richa Gupta, has so far resulted in the planting of five million trees across the city, with the forest department contributing 1.5 million. The campaign is expected to add another two million trees in the coming months, focusing on public parks, road medians and school campuses. Officials also highlighted ongoing efforts to integrate these green corridors with a newly drafted wildlife master plan.
